The 1/2" aluminum freestanding coaming, either fixed or removable, is rigid enough to allow carrying the 19lb boat over your shoulder. The seat is a 3/16" plywood plate that sits atop the keel, and under the sponsons. When the lower sponsons are inflated, the seat is held firmly in place. A 1/2" closed cell foam pad provides additional comfort.
