The stem was originally going to be rounded based on the blunt ends. I changed my mind and decided to make pointed ends. Small redwood blocks will be laminated and shaped. Had the stem plates been allowed to come to a point and the gunwales allowed to run to the ends, finishing this area would have been easier. A saw is used to clean up the ends prior to shaping.
