HB - Half Breadths HAB - Height Above Baseline

Table Of Offsets - Offsets represent two intersecting points.  This intersection is the location of the keel, chines, gunwales, and deckridge of each cross section. Offsets are expressed as Height Above baseline (HAB) and Half Breadths (HB).

"Height above baseline" - HAB is the location above the baseline (0cm) for the keel, chines, gunwales, and deckridge of each cross section.

"Half Breadths" - HB is the width from the vertical baseline of the chines and gunwales. Since HB represents half the width of a cross section, the numbers must be duplicated on the opposite side of the vertical centerline to represent the entire cross section. HAB and HB intersect at the location of the various stringers. On the next page is an example of how to define cross section 4 using offsets. The Sea Ranger keel has no HB, and the deckridge has an HB only at section 4.
