1. The frame components consist of 8 plywood cross section ( .5in) , red oak floor (.25in), and western red cedar stringers. Gunwales are 1.5 X .75in, Keel and Deckridge are 1 X .75in, and the 6 chines are .75 X .75in.
2. A view of the "V" shaped cross section 7 after it has been notched to accept the stringers.
3. The unglued frame after all stringers have been trial fitted. Only 2 stations ( 1 and 6) are attached to the strongback to secure the frame during construction. This makes it easy to align along the centerline vs attaching all 8 stations as would be the case in woodstrip construction.
