David, from Connecticut, has completed a Sea Ranger LC. Length is 17' 6" with the 20 1/2" beam. Longitudinal pieces and stem pieces are eastern white pine, cross sections are 3/8" birch plywood with pine reinforcement on sections 4 and 5. Skin is 8.5 oz nylon with gold dye and 2 part urethane finish. Coaming is lamination of 1/8" bending plywood with fiberglass tape and epoxy. Stringer to cross ection connections are lashed with waxed nylon artificial sinew- no glue or epoxy. "floorboards" are 1" closed cell foam directly on the skin, backrest is carved foam with 2mm neoprene stretched over it. Boat weight is 32 lbs.
